The root of Fear Genesis 3:9-10
But the LORD God called to the man, “Where are you?” Gen 3:10 He answered, “I heard you in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; so I hid.” And he said, “Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree that I commanded you not to eat from?”
The Bible clearly mentions in detail that fear is the very first human emotion. It appears immediately when the ‘Fall’ into the world of sense-experience is initiated by eating from the Tree of Knowledge. We learn from the Bible, fear appears to be joined with all that we experience in the earthly world. This description of fear is coupled with God’s first question to the ‘fallen’\lost human being, “Where are you?” Notice that the question is not answered. The man only says I hid myself, seemingly not knowing where or who he is and thus being lost and afraid.
God is Love and because of his Love and kindness, he sent his son Jesus Christ to earth to pay the price by death for us to be redeemed. Jesus died so that all who believes in him can be back in right relationship with God. Luke 19:10 For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.”
There is no Fear in Love\God
1John 4:18 There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.
The completeness of love means we do not crouch down, tremble in fear before God, dreading His judgment, either now or in the day of judgment. We know all the judgment we ever deserved – past, present, and future was poured out on Jesus Christ on the cross.
I encourage you as I encourage myself to be bold in Christ knowing that if you belong to him there is nothing, not even death that can separate us from his powerful Love! If you are not yet in the Family of God I encourage you to open your heart and allow the Holy Spirit of God to draw near to you.
Rom 10:9 If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
